Cheapskate Records - BOYZ 3

Oddly, the Chris Montez hit is/was penned by Jim Lee and maybe James Whild Lea wrote it when he was 13?  After all, the precocious little bugger was more than bloody capable?
However, for the purposes of this discussion, yes, it is the 1962 Chris Montez classic, no it should not be credited to LEA and holy cow, YES, it sounds just how you are imagining it. Whether that be good or bad depends on you, I guess, but without 10 pints of Stella, this judge says, "Sorry, it's a 'No' from me."

Slade had previously covered this song on their 1985 "Crackers" Album, but now tried a Slade-style Remix to get another hit, but it failed to chart, probably as a result of not being played on Radio One?

My thanks to Chris 'The Historian' Selby for his relentless research. It is said, in certain circles, that Walsall Archives have a seat reserved specifically for him and that Wolverhampton archives consult him when searching the Express & Star

Let's Dance ( 1988 Remix )
( Jim Lee )

Hey baby won't you take a chance
Say that you'll let me have this dance
And let's dance oh let's dance
We'll do the twist the stomp the mash potato too
Any old dance that you wanna do
And let's dance oh let's dance

Hey baby how you thrill me so
Hold me tight and don't you let me go
And let's dance oh let's dance
We'll do the twist the stomp the mash potato too
Any old dance that you wanna do
And let's dance oh let's dance
OK get on up

Hey baby if you're all alone
Maybe you'll let me walk you home
Well let's dance oh let's dance
We'll do the twist the stomp the mash potato too
Any old dance that you wanna do
And let's dance oh let's dance

Hey baby things are swinging right
Yes I know that this is the night
A - let's dance oh let's dance
We'll do the twist the stomp the mash potato too
Any old dance that you wanna do

Standing On The Corner
(Noddy Holder & Jimmy Lea )

Standin' on the corner handbag on her thigh
Standin' in the shadows giving all the boys the eye
Does anybody wanna try?

Standin' on the corner handbag on her hip
Standin' in the doorway giving all the boys some lip
Does anybody wanna dip?

So look out now 'cos I might be over tonight
She's a sure shining shimmy shootin' high falutin' rootin' tootin' baby yeh!
And she's found herself a shimmy shootin' high falutin' rootin' tootin' man;
She's a hard casin' fast racin' male chasin' boot lacin' baby yeh!
And to get her evil way she'll do most anything her devil says she can.

Standing on the corner burning up inside
Bending over backwards she wants her fire engine tried
Does anybody need the ride?

Leaning out the window giving out her points
Learned on teacher's right knee now it's other low down joints
Does anybody need the points?

She's standin' on the corner with her handbag on her thigh
And then she's standin' in the shadows givin' all the boys the eye
Does anybody wanna try?

She's a sure shining shimmy shootin' high falutin' rootin' tootin' baby yeh!
And she's found herself a shimmy shootin' high falutin' rootin' tootin' man;
She's a hard casin' fast racin' male chasin' boot lacin' baby yeh!
And to get her evil way she'll do most anything her devil says she can.

She's a sure shining shimmy shootin' high falutin' rootin' tootin' son of a gun from Arizona, and one day I'm gonna own that baby yeh!
And she's found herself a shimmy shootin' high falutin' rootin' tootin' man;
She's a hard casin' fast racin' male chasin' boot lacin' all of the time a-sweet tastin' hair raisin' two facin' baby yeh!
And to get her evil way she'll do most anything her devil says she can.

Crying In The Rain
( Greenfield & King )

I'll never let you see
The way my broken heart is hurtin' me
I've got my pride and I know how to hide
All my sorrow and pain
I'll do my cryin' in the rain

If I wait for cloudy skies
You won't know the rain from the tears in my eyes
You'll never know that I still love you so
Though the heartaches remain
I'll do my cryin' in the rain

Rain drops fallin' from heaven
Could never wash away my misery
But since we're not together
I look for stormy weather
To hide those tears I hope you'll never see

Some day when my cryin's done
I'm gonna wear a smile and walk in the sun
I may be a fool but till then darling you'll
Never see me complain
I'll do my cryin' in the rain

I'll do my cryin' in the rain
I'll do my cryin' in the rain

Wild Nights
(Dave Hill &.Bill Hunt)

Ooh-ooh

Wild nights, we had some wild nights with you
Wild dreams, all of my dreams came true
Pretty girls, we had some pretty girls just like you
Well it's good my friend to see you back again, to see you
Nothing is wrong with the way you feel
If it's in your heart then it's for real
It's another day, it's another deal
No reason to explain, you said it again and again

Wild nights, we had some wild nights with you
Wild dreams, all of my dreams came true
Hey-hey-hey-hey

And it doesn't matter who you are
You can't turn back, you've come too far
And there's no more whiskey in the jar
No reason to explain, you said it again and again

Now close your eyes as we turn back the pages
Listen
Do you remember?
Say you remember
You and me and the wild nights
And the wild nights, yeah, yeah

Yeah, we used to stay out all night long
You in your old blue jeans, I remember it well
And we'd take a ride on down to eighty mile beach
On the back of my heart baby
And I made love to you, I made love to you
And you cried and you cried

And we listen to the old songs, the old songs, yeah
On the radio, the radio, radio, radio, radio, radio
Radio, radio, radio, radio, radio, radio, radio, radio, radio
Hey baby
We used to sing
Baby I love you
Baby I need you
Stand by me
In the midnight, oh, oh, yeah

You and me and the wild nights, the wild nights
Bsby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby,
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
Woah, darling, darling, darling, darling, darling,
Darling, darling, darling, darling
Hold me tonight

Baby, cross my heart, I love you
